About

A bit about me

I've been a designer and a builder for as long as I can remember, it started with running Minecraft servers as a kid, teaching myself infrastructure, code, and how to make something people actually wanted to use, years before I had the words for any of it. I studied both, and today I hold a master's in Interaction Design and a Design Systems certificate.

My career has led with design, on products used by millions across Flanders. At KBC I design conversations for Kate, their digital assistant on my first stint I designed 186 of them and was the first designer there to push for integrating LLMs into what was then a fully rule-based chatbot, which helped earn a world's-best banking-app award and Belgium's best chatbot (I gave a talk at UX Beers about that transition). In between, a year at VRT MAX designing the streaming experience, I redesigned the player around chapters and highlights and set up an accessibility research framework.

But I never put the technical side down. Under Valderas, which began as a side hustle and is now where I do my most complete work, I design and build the whole thing: this site, hand-coded; and the systems smaller companies run on. For Nitra I built a full training-management system, own their entire Zoho One platform, and am now rebuilding that platform from the ground up in code (Next.js + Postgres) as they outgrow low-code.

So none of this is a pivot; it's the whole of what I've always done. Because I design and build, the hand-off between designed and shipped is a choice, not a tax, I can carry something end to end, or plug into a team and hand over clean.

"A wonderful collaboration that grew from a purely informal introduction. The most important thing about Inti Valderas Caro is that you can always count on him as an enthusiastic entrepreneur, brimming with innovative ideas. I can highly recommend Inti."
